The Museum of Gaming History

The Museum of Gaming History is growing and we need your support. The MoGH came to life in 2014 with the showing of exhibits at the El Cortez Hotel and the Mob Museum. We are working on showing several new exhibits in the coming year. The MoGH needs your support to fund these projects. We seek to grow the hobby by expanding interest in Gaming History. 2001 - La Grange, MO. Mark Twain casino opens.

July 26th

2021 - Monday

1980 - Reno, NV. The casino at the Reno Ramada, 200 East Sixth Street, opened. On September 30, 1989 the table games were shut down for a major renovation project. On August 6, 1996, the hotel closed. .

1999 - Robinsonville, MS. Isle of Capri casino opens, closes in 2002.

July 29th

2021 - Thursday

1999 - Detroit, MI. The MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, Michigan, is one of three casino resort hotels in the city, and one of four in the Detroit–Windsor area. The luxury resort hotel opened on July 29, 1999, with a grand event which included models and celebrities including Ashanti, Kid Rock, and fireworks. It is the first luxury casino resort hotel in a major metropolis outside of Las Vegas Detroit is one of the largest American cities and metropolitan regions to offer casino resort hotels.

2008 - Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Ocean Casino opens in the Punta Borinquen Resort and Casino, a Marriott Hotel.

2015 - Carson City, NV. The Carson Station Casino becomes the Max Casino.

1957 - Las Vegas, NV. Zodiac Club opens at 109 Fremont Street, downtown Las Vegas.

July 31st

2021 - Saturday

1931 - Reno, NV. Louvre Club opened at 22 East Commercial Row. It operated under a variety of owners until December of 1939. It next opened in May of 1940 as Martin's Bar.

1997 - E. Dubuque, IL. Silver Eagle casino closes.

2006 - Bossier City, LA. Diamond Jacks casino opens.
